The Steel Rod you receive during the tutorial is the starter rod, and every upgrade after it is bought at the Fishing Rods station in the plaza, where each rod carries Luck, Speed, and Total Strength stats plus a Rebirth gate. The only Cash prices reported so far are Rod of Heaven's at 25 Quadrillion and Void Rod at around 7.5 Quadrillion — for the rest, the live shop card is the price of record.
Nine-rod core set: stats and Rebirth gates
Rod guides published around the end of August 2026 count nine rods as the core set, upgraded in shop order from Steel up to Rod of Heaven's. The Luck, Speed, and Total Strength figures below are consistent across those lists; the Rebirth gate column reflects shop-card data from the same window, so treat it as reported and recheck it against the live cards before relying on a threshold.

Void Rod's Luck is currently inconsistent between reports: the 4,700x above matches the rod lists and shop-card tables, while a creator tips video reports 14,700x. Check the shop card before planning around either value.
The Forgotten Rod question: three more rods reported
How many rods the game has right now depends on which guide you check. Lists from late August 2026 count nine rods and treat Rod of Heaven's as the top of the set, while a September 2026 tier list counts 12 and adds the three rods below above the nine-rod set. That tier list's FAQ names Forgotten Rod as currently the best rod and puts both top rods in the Fishing Rods Shop — Rod of Heaven's at 150 Rebirths and Forgotten Rod at 225 Rebirths — and other progression guides also end at Forgotten Rod. The tables here show both reports without picking between them; the live shop list is the tiebreaker.

Rod of Heaven's — 25 Quadrillion Cash
Written guides list 25 Quadrillion Cash and describe the live shop card showing that requirement. Recheck the card after balance changes before parking all your earnings here.
Void Rod — around 7.5 Quadrillion Cash
Creator gameplay videos put it near 7.5 Quadrillion Cash and point to a timing signal: when your rebirth cash threshold reaches the same magnitude as the rod's price, you can typically afford it.
Steel Rod — unconfirmed, about $3
A creator's hedged recollection ("I think it's just like $3"). Treat this as unconfirmed rather than a settled shop price.
Everything else
No Cash prices have surfaced for Iron, Ice, Amethyst, Gold, Ruby, Astral, Forgotten Rod, Rod of Hell, or Complexing Rod. Gameplay footage shows a 10 Trillion rod purchase around mid-progression, but the rod is never named in it, so the figure can't be pinned to any specific rod.

- Speed sets catch speed: the higher the Speed, the fewer clicks you need to reel in a character, which means more roll attempts per session.

- Total Strength determines the maximum character weight your rod can handle, so a rod with low Strength may not be able to catch high-rarity units.

- A rod's Luck gets boosted while player-triggered events like Hell's Gate, Party, and Sakura Season are active — that's when the strongest rod is worth using.
Starting rod and progression order
The Steel Rod is the starter: you receive it during the tutorial and use it to catch your first anime character, and the Iron Rod is the first shop purchase, bought with Cash once you've moved beyond the tutorial. From there, current upgrade guides agree on the shop order — Steel, Iron, Ice, Amethyst, Gold, Ruby, Astral, Void — and then diverge on the endpoint: some run through Rod of Heaven's at endgame rebirth counts, while others continue to a final Forgotten Rod. The live shop list settles which rods exist in the current version.
Where and how to buy rods
Head to the plaza and interact with the NPC at the Fishing Rods station to open the shop and view all available equipment. The shop shows which rods you have unlocked and which ones require additional Rebirths — most rods stay locked until you reach a specific Rebirth count, and rods with a listed price also require Cash, which you earn from the anime characters placed in your base.
Rebirth gates and timing your next rod
Stronger rods are progressively locked behind Rebirth requirements, and rebirthing trades your current cash and food for a permanent multiplier, extra storage, a higher rank, and access to better rods. Two timing rules recur across guides: buy the next rod as soon as you can afford it without draining the cash you need for a pending rebirth, and use the magnitude check — when your current rebirth cash requirement is around the same size (same number of digits) as the rod's price, you can typically close the gap within a few hours because rebirth multipliers raise your income. Because rebirthing wipes cash and food, run down spare cash and food on permanent upgrades and level-ups before resetting rather than sitting on them.
Acquisition notes: seller, repurchase, and trading
A wiki record lists the Rod of the Heavens as sold by Angelia, and adds a persistence rule that affects ownership: an unlocked rod ability survives Rebirth and Sacrifice, but the rod itself must be repurchased after a Sacrifice. Only the acquisition field is recorded here — ability effects are outside this page's scope.
Separately, current trading guidance reports that fishing rods, Cash, and Cosmic Boxes can't be traded through the trade system right now, so any player-to-player deal that promises a rod as part of the swap can't be executed in-game.
Version-sensitive changes to watch
The stats, costs, and gates on this page are August–September 2026 snapshots. An update announced for 30 August 2026 previewed a new fishing rod plus a game recalibration, and the September tier list's FAQ says the developers are planning to add more rods — either can add a new shop card or change existing numbers. Recheck each rod's live shop card after updates before committing Cash or rebirths to a purchase.
