Fish an Anime RNG Luck Guide: How to Increase Luck Fast

Raise Luck with permanent sources (shop upgrades, rods, gamepasses, Research Lab) and temporary boosts (Luck Potions, Luck events), plus how they stack and the best buying order. Prices differ between listings — check shop cards in-game.

Quick answer

Luck shifts your pond-cast rolls toward rarer characters but never guarantees a specific one. Build it permanently with the shop's Luck upgrade, higher-tier rods, the 2x/4x Luck gamepasses, and Research Lab luck nodes, then stack temporary boosts — Luck Potions and summoned Luck events — on top and fish nonstop while any boost is running.

  • Speed controls how many rolls you attempt per minute; Luck controls how good those rolls are. Luck is separate from fishing power.
  • Confirmed stacking categories: shop upgrades, rods, the two gamepasses (2x/4x stack with each other), potions, and event boosts. The exact add-or-multiply arithmetic and any total cap are not documented.
  • Your base does not directly add Luck, and nothing indicates placed characters change the rarity roll — they fund Luck upgrades with the cash they generate.

Permanent Luck sources

Shop Luck and chance upgrades

The Upgrades shop's Luck entry multiplies your Total Luck for Rare Characters, starts at 92.6k$ cash, gains +2.5% per level, and caps at level 160. The same shop sells separate permanent chance upgrades for individual top rarities. These values are community-listed and patch-sensitive, so recheck the shop after balance changes.

The rod Luck ladder

Rod Luck is the largest permanent Luck multiplier in the game and determines which fish rarities you can catch.

Ruby Rod720x20
Astral Rod1,150x30
Void Rod4,700x75
Rod of Heaven's22,500x150 (plus a 25 Quadrillion cash shop price)

The rod list and top values are currently inconsistent between listings: some count 12 rods, adding Rod of Hell (6,400x Luck), Complexing Rod (8,800x Luck), and the Forgotten Rod (25,000x Luck at a 225-rebirth gate), while others count nine. The Void Rod's Luck appears as both 4,700x and 14,700x. Check the live shop card in-game before saving toward any rod.

Practical rules for the ladder: don't skip mid-tier rods — their stat jumps often cost less per Luck point than grinding raw shop upgrades alone — and endgame Luck comes from high-tier rods combined with rebirth multipliers and gem-shop caps.

2x and 4x Luck gamepasses

Two Robux gamepasses multiply Luck permanently: 2x Luck and 4x Luck. They are described as stackable bonuses that sharply raise the odds of getting the rarest anime units in the game. Their listed prices currently conflict — 2x Luck shows both 349 and 280 Robux, and 4x Luck shows both 1,749 and 1,400 Robux — so verify the live in-game pass price before buying.

Research Lab luck nodes

The Research Lab converts cash into permanent technology upgrades that usually survive rebirth resets, and Luck or rare-chance modifiers are one of its research lines. Its timing table rates Luck shop upgrades as relevant to rare pulls at all stages, advising core luck and offline earnings nodes first. Community gameplay footage places the unlock around $50,000 cash, after several rebirths and stable platform income. Because cash wipes on rebirth while research usually does not, leftover cash right before a reset is a smart lab sink — never rebirth with five figures of cash unspent while research nodes remain affordable.

Temporary Luck sources

Luck Potions

The Boosts shop stocks a Luck Potion (starting at Lvl. 1) alongside its other potions; potions are timed boosts that improve the odds of catching rarer characters. They arrive from gameplay rewards, Cosmic Boxes, and codes — late-August 2026 milestone codes bundled 5,000 gems with Luck Potions, but September 2026 code lists mark those expired, so confirm current code status in the Shop's redemption section or on the codes guide before counting on them.

Timing matters more than anything else with potions: activate a Luck Potion only when you can actively fish for most, preferably all, of its duration. Collect cash and prepare your fishing setup before consuming, then fish continuously until it expires — potion time spent in menus or before logging off is wasted. The Boosts shop restocks roughly every 20 minutes at steeply escalating prices, so buy potions deliberately rather than every restock. Boost windows can themselves be extended: the upgrades shop sells a Total Potion Time multiplier (2.5T$ initial, +1% per level, max level 20), and a 2x Potion Time gamepass is listed at 49 Robux.

Summoned Luck events

Player-triggered events apply server-wide Luck boosts on top of permanent Luck, and they do not occur naturally: they are summoned with potions from the Boosts Shop's potion upgrade tree or from two traveling merchants — Selene (a 2% chance to appear every 20 seconds, staying 3–4 minutes) and Angelia (rarer spawn, limited stock of the rarest potions). A rod's Luck is boosted while such events are active, making them the moments to fish with your best rod.

Party's effect is currently inconsistent between listings: it appears both as a Luck event and as a 2x Catch Speed boost, so check the event's description in-game when it triggers.

Heaven's Collide rod ability

The Rod of the Heavens (sold by Angelia) carries the Heaven's Collide rod ability: x4 Luck per charge with 1 charge and a 1-minute cooldown. Two rules matter for planning Luck windows: all rod abilities share one cooldown, even after swapping rods or rejoining, and an unlocked ability survives Rebirth and Sacrifice — though the rod itself must be repurchased after Sacrifice.

How Luck sources stack

Tips

Shop upgrades

Permanent Luck and chance upgrades purchased with cash or gems stack as a category.

Rod multipliers

Fishing rods carry built-in Luck multipliers that stack with your other sources.

Gamepasses

The 2x Luck and 4x Luck gamepasses are stackable with each other on top of everything else.

Potions and events

Luck Potions from codes, Cosmic Boxes, and rewards, plus summoned Luck events, add a temporary layer over your permanent Luck.

Rebirth multipliers

These help only indirectly — they let you afford higher Luck tiers sooner rather than adding Luck themselves.

The arithmetic is undocumented

No listing states whether these categories add or multiply, or whether a total cap exists — treat stacking as confirmed at the category level only and don't compute exact totals.

Two confirmed non-factors

Your base does not directly increase Luck, and nothing indicates placed characters change the rarity roll — stronger characters simply generate more cash for upgrades.

Luck-building order by progression stage

Roadmap

  1. 1

    Early game

    Build income before buying Luck

    • Don't immediately spend all your money trying to increase your Luck
    • Build fishing power and cash generation so the account can progress and afford upgrades
  2. 2

    Stable income

    Start permanent Luck

    • Buy the main shop's base Luck/chance upgrades — permanent, compounding value
    • Alternate cash between the next rod tier your rebirth rank unlocks and permanent Luck nodes
  3. 3

    Mid-game

    Add research that survives rebirths

    • Buy Research Lab luck nodes, which usually persist through rebirth resets
    • Spend leftover cash on research right before each rebirth
  4. 4

    Stockpile potions

    Bank temporary boosts

    • Collect Luck Potions from gameplay rewards, Cosmic Boxes, and codes
    • Redeem active codes and schedule a fishing block right afterward
  5. 5

    Boosted session

    Maximize attempts per boost

    • Activate a Luck Potion only for a prepared, active session
    • Keep fishing nonstop to maximize attempts while the boost runs
  6. 6

    Endgame

High-tier rods and steady Luck purchases

    • Center Luck on high-tier rods like Rod of Heaven's (150+ rebirths) combined with rebirth multipliers and gem-shop caps
    • Keep buying Luck shop upgrades — the Research Lab timing table rates them worth buying at all stages

When to pause Luck spending

Mistakes to avoid

Problem
Buying Luck while you are one rebirth away from a platform or rod gate
Fix
Spend the cash on the threshold instead, then resume Luck purchases once the gate clears.
Problem
Rebirthing with cash you still need elsewhere
Fix
Pause Luck spending while saving for the Research Lab unlock (around $50,000, community-reported) or for Rebirth 5 and the Lemon Stand — restart once the gate clears.
Problem
Choosing between Luck and earnings upgrades by habit
Fix
If your placed characters are weak, more Luck helps more; with a strong setup, earnings upgrades push progression faster.
Problem
Grinding more Luck at endgame and expecting rare rolls to arrive
Fix
An endgame session's on-screen odds read a GOD roll at 1 in 528,000, improving only to about 1 in 354,000 after further upgrades, with Omniscient at 1 in 8,600,000 — past that point, extra upgrades are marginal and the rest is praying for luck.
Problem
Treating Luck as finished after the endgame upgrades
Fix
Include at least one Luck purchase in each rebirth cycle unless you are hard-saving for a specific unlock.
